Some news about a proposed Consett Supporters Club, which Kevin Hamilton is currently trying to organise. A meeting has been arranged for Wednesday 8 July from 7.30pm at the club to discuss the setting up of a Supporters Club with the full backing of Consett AFC. If you are in anyway interested please get yourself along. At this stage they are interested in all ideas and the opinions of fellow supporters to help get it up and running. Certain ideas such as arranging away travel and fundraising events for the club have been mentioned but this is your chance to become involved and have a valued input. It's then the intention to have a regular monthly meeting for the Supporters Club if there is enough interest generated.

The fixtures for the 2009-10 Northern League season have been announced, with Consett facing a terrible start in the shape of back-to-back away games against Whitley Bay on Saturday 8 August and Spennymoor Town on Tuesday 11 August. Our first home game is scheduled to be against West Auckland on Saturday 15 August, but this may be changed due to the FA Cup Extra Preliminary Round being scheduled for that day. Given that before any of that happens we face a pre-season curtain raiser at Newcastle Benfield for the JR Cleator Cup on Saturday 8 August, then an away draw in the FA Cup would leave Tow Law Town on Wednesday 19 August as potentially our first home game of the season, after four on the road for starters.
In the League Cup we were given a long trek in the first round, an away tie at Second Division Whitehaven. Should we win through that then we will be away again in the 2nd Round at either Billingham Town or Tow Law Town.
