A stunning victory
for Consett today as they beat high flying Durham City 2-0.
After a drab first half the Steelmen struck early in the second
half with two goals in a minute from Darren Grimes and Andrew
Green. They then put on a fine second half performance in
which they could and should have scored many more. Match report and pictures
now online.
More good news for Consett comes in the form of the result Prudhoe Town
2 Dunston Fed 3, which means the gap between ourselves and Prudhoe is
now just one point.

A hard earned point
for Consett in tonight's match at Dunston Fed. After going
behind to a 7th minute goal, the Steelmen drew level through a
Colin McLeod penalty awarded seconds after the start of the second
half. Consett then survived a Dunston barrage, during which
the home side hit the woodwork twice, but managed to hang on for a
point. Match report and pictures click

Defeat once
again for Consett as they went down 1-5 away to in-form Billingham
Town. Trailing 0-1 at half time, Consett equalised through Colin
McLeod early in the scond half. They were level for only ten
minutes though, before the home side took the lead again and then ran
away with the game with three further goals. Match Report
here. Nearest rivals Prudhoe also
lost (0-3 at leaders Brandon) so at least no ground was lost, but the
relegation fight is clearly boiling down to any three from the bottom
four as the rest of the league disappears over the horizon.

Another short
notice re-arrangement to make you aware of. On this coming
Tuesday, March 25, Consett will travel to Dunston Federation Brewery
to fulfil a twice postponed fixture. This fixture was
provisionally set for 22 April, until it was pointed out that Fed
already had a game the day before!

More misery for
Consett as they go down 0-2 at Jarrow Roofing this evening.
This was a genuinely harsh result as Consett put in one of their
better performances of recent weeks and dominated large sections
of the second half in particular. Unfortunately though
Consett's luck is deserting them when they need it most, the two
goals this evening coming courtesy of a massive deflection that
gave Platten no chance and a second that was arguably offside.

Consett went down
1-2 at home to Marske United in today's match at Belle Vue.
With nearest rivals Prudhoe inactive, the Steelmen had the chance
to reduce the gap to just one point with a win in this
match. However it was never on the cards as Consett went
behind as early as the 9th minute to a goal from Woods. An
own goal brought Consett level on the stroke of half time, however
the visitors dominated the second half, the winner coming from
Brown on 62 minutes. Match

An extraordinary
and priceless win for Consett this evening against their
relegation rivals Prudhoe at Belle Vue. Gaining revenge for
the defeat at Kimberley Park last week, the Steelmen reversed the
scores to run out 3-1 winners. The win was all the more
remarkable as, with 11 first team regulars unavailable, Consett
were forced to field an extremely inexperienced team. They
played like men possessed however and won it with three goals in
13 second half minutes - two from Andrew Green making his first
start and one from Colin McLeod. A last minute goal from
Bowes was only a consolation for Prudhoe. Click here for the
Match report.

Defeat once again
for Consett today, making it four in a row - all away from home.
This time Esh Winning inflicted the damage with a 1-0 win secured by a
55th minute Burns goal. Match Report

Apologies for the delay updating the site, your host was
in Barcelona on a stag weekend watching a tame 1-1 draw against Real

Consett's nosedive
towards the Second Division continued at Prudhoe this evening as
they went down 1-3 to the team immediately above them in the
league. A goal down after 8 minutes, the Steelmen rallied
and levelled through Colin McLeod on the stroke of half
time. A Jeff Sugden own goal put the home side ahead again
after an hour and a crucial 3rd from Creamer 11 minutes later
sealed Consett's fate. Click here for the Match report.

Another potentially
damaging defeat for Consett at the home of bottom club Newcastle
Blue Star today. Star completed the double over Consett
thanks to two goals in the first 15 minutes from Heron. A
Colin McLeod penalty on the half hour mark gave Consett hope but
1-2 remained the final score. Click here for the Match report.
