2 September 2002

The U18s lost to Witton Albion 3-2 in the 1st Qualifying round of the FA Youth cup.  Two individual errors saw Consett 2-0 down at half-time, Daniel Craggs converted a penalty to excite the home crowd, however, Witton were also awarded a penalty to keep their 2 goal lead.  In the 88th minute Michael Frazer scored from a direct free-kick on the edge of their opponents 18 yard box. Time however ran out for the unlucky home side, as they deserved to be even at full time but chances weren't converted over the 90 minutes.  Witton now march on to play the winners of the match between Halifax Town v Marine.
