Consett's last
chance of silverware this season ended with a 0-2 defeat at the
home of Billingham Synthonia. The Synners completed their
third victory over Consett in a 60 day period, with two second
half goals from Wood and Radigan. In terms of chances it was
a pretty one-sided contest, and the scoreline was about fair.

A priceless
three points for Consett today as they defeated relegation rivals
Peterlee 2-1 at Belle Vue. Goals either side of half time from Colin
McLeod and Johnny Brown gave the Steelmen a two goal lead, but a Cobain
header midway through the second half ensured a nervous finale had to be
endured. Match

After a number
of postponements, Consett were in action for the first time this year at
leaders Bedlington today. In a game which saw a welcome return to
first team action after a serious shoulder injury for keeper and last
season's Player of the Year James Platten, The Steelmen kept up their
impressive run of recent results by forcing a 1-1 draw. Milner
gave the Terriers the lead after 14 minutes, but just as they did
against Brandon last time out Consett stormed back in the second half,
and equalised through Mark Lee in the 65th minute. Consett held on for
the point despite being reduced to 10 men shortly afterwards when Johnny
Brown, just returning from suspension, was shown a second yellow
card. Click here for the full Match
