Consett Juniors Under 12's became National Boys Club 5-a-side Champions in May.
Consett Juniors Under 12's won the Durham County competition in November 2001 in a very exciting competition. On the way to winning the competition the overcame local rivals

Qualifying for the final meant that Consett qualified to represent Northern England in the National Finals in Kettering.
The National finals were a very hard fought competition which saw Consett drawing there 1st League game moments after arriving at the venue but then going on to win there next 3 league games to reach the semi-finals. During the league section Consett beat teams from Leicestershire, Wales, London & Berkshire. The semi-final saw a repeat of the Northern Regional final with Consett defeating West End Boys of Manchester 3-1 this time round. In the final Consett defeated Peabody Trust of London 2-1.
Club Secretary David Pyke said "This is an outstanding achievement by the boys one which will be hard to match in the future. The Club is extremely proud of the team".
Two of the boys, David Wardle &
Andrew Wright, have been selected to represent Sunderland Academy & Hartlepool School of Excellence respectively. Consett Juniors would like to wish them every success.
