The draw for the early rounds of the FA Cup has been made, and
Consett start the Road to Cardiff at home to Northern Counties East League side
Pontefract Collieries in the Extra Preliminary Round on Saturday 24 August 2002.
This incidentally means that our home game against newly promoted Prudhoe Town
that day has to be re-arranged. Should we be successful in that tie we
face a trip to Spennymoor United of the Northern Premier League in the
Preliminary Round the following week. The reward for overcoming those
hurdles will be a place in the First Qualifying Round, and a home game against
Ashington or Colne of the North West Counties League on 14 September. To
see the draw in its enitirity on the FA web site click

The 2002/03 fixtures have been released. Consett open
their campaign on Saturday August 17 with a home game against Guisborough Town
(who entertained us on the opening day of last season). Our first away
game is against local rivals and last season's Northern League runners-up Tow
Law Town three days later. On the second Saturday of the season we're at
home again as First Division newcomers Prudhoe Town make the short trip down the
road to Belle Vue. For a full list of next season's fixtures click
here.
The draw for the opening rounds of the League Cup has also been
made. In the First Round Consett have an awkward trip to Second Division
Washington Nissan. Then, should we be successful, we face the prospect of
visiting the other Washington team as the Second Round pits us against the
winners of the Washington Ikeda v Kennek Ryhope tie. For the draw in full click
